The Turton Memorial Hall Committee intends to hold a street party in Maplebeck for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
On Tuesday 5th June 2012 our country will celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee when Queen Elizabeth achieves 60 years as our monarch. This day has been declared a national holiday and Monday 4th June will be Spring Bank Holiday . This will create a four day weekend starting on Saturday 2nd June - up to and including Tuesday 5th June 2012.
Of course we will be making emergency service access possible. Should you need to use your car during the few hours of the celebrations whilst part of the main street is closed, we will make available alternative parking.

This will not be a fund raising event. The party will not be open to the general public just the residents of Kersall, Maplebeck & Winkburn. In other words it will not be advertised, BUT we will be delighted if you, with members of your family would be able to attend and make it a fun day. Tell them as soon as possible so they can mark it on their calendar. This is for children and adults alike.
We will be asking for numbers closer to the date for catering purposes. Please feel free to discuss any aspects of the celebrations although we are still only at the planning stage.
If you would be willing to help with the arrangements or just be involved in some way we will be holding a meeting at the village hall on 3rd May @7pm in the village hall
